WHY WE PICKED THIS

Husky doesn't make nail trimming easy. This clipper did.

We’re not going to oversell this one. It’s a nail clipper โ€” no built-in grinder, no LED light, no safety sensor. Just a well-made pair of clippers with sharp blades and a comfortable grip.

ย

But sometimes that’s exactly what you need. Chanel is a large dog with thick, fast-growing nails, and we go through a lot of nail trimmers. Cheap ones crush instead of cut, expensive ones are overkill. This one just cuts cleanly, every time.

ย

The spring mechanism keeps it open between cuts so you’re not fighting the tool, and the safety lock means it won’t accidentally open at the bottom of a grooming bag. Practical, reliable, and honestly one of the more underrated items in our grooming routine.

“We’ve gone through a few cheap nail clippers that either crushed the nail or broke after a month. This one cuts clean and hasn’t given us any trouble โ€” It’s honestly one of the best-value things in our grooming kit.”

Q: Is this suitable for cats?

Yes, but it’s on the larger side โ€” best suited for medium to large dogs. For very small pets or cats with fine nails, a smaller clipper may give you better control.

Look for where the nail starts to curve and cut below that point. For dark nails, cut small amounts at a time until you see a grey/pink dot in the center โ€” that means you’re close to the quick and should stop. When in doubt, cut less.

No โ€” this is a clean, straightforward clipper only. If your dog’s nails need smoothing after cutting, a basic nail file or grinder is a good complement.
