WHY WE PICKED THIS
Max doesn't know how to eat slowly — this bowl does it for him
Max has always been our fastest eater — done with a full bowl before anyone else at the table had even started. It was impressive in a slightly worrying way.
This bowl changed that without any training or effort on our part. The raised columns in the base mean he has to actually navigate around them, which naturally slows him down. No more finishing in under a minute, no more the gulping-then-standing-there-looking-confused routine afterward.
We also like that it’s real stainless steel, not a thin coated version — after months of daily use with a large, enthusiastic eater, it still looks and works like new.
This bowl also earned its place with two dogs who treat mealtime like a competition. Creamie and Ninjar are sisters who share a room, and racing to finish first — so they can steal from whoever’s slower — has basically become a daily sport for them.
We put this bowl in front of both of them at the same time.
